Tucked away below street level on Melbourne’s trendy Little Bourke Street, Palermo is an Argentinian restaurant which celebrates the Italian influence on Argentinian food and Palermo itself — a vibrant neighbourhood in Buenos Aires.
The award-winning space, which oozes old-world charm, was brought to life by multi-disciplinary design firm, Ewert Leaf, who designed the contemporary yet rustic space with rich textures, marble finishes and bold flooring.
Design highlights include a cow hide feature wall, an existing hand-painted mural of the Tuscan countryside commissioned by a past restaurant tenant and a custom stitched leather kitchen bar made from Pelle Leather’s full grain Colorado leather where patrons can watch the restaurant’s unique Parrilla Grill in action before enjoying their meal.
