12 Micron by Richards and Stanisich

12-Micron is a restaurant, bar and late night dessert house in Barangaroo owned by Dixon Hospitality Group and run by two-hat chef, Justin Wise. While it’s safe to say the food at the waterfront eatery is world-class, so is its interior.

Self-described as “casual, beautiful and modern, much like Australia itself”, 12-Micron was designed by renowned design firm, Richards and Stanisich in 2016, who was inspired by Sydney’s native flora, the city’s urban setting and the colours, tones and textures of a spotted gum.

The relaxed-meets-elegant space boasts cobblestone floors, a soft colour palette, leather finishes and is framed fittingly with planters filled with spotted gum. Pelle Leather’s textured Panorama finish was chosen for the contemporary seating throughout the 230-seat restaurant as to imitate a rough bark texture.
